Marmaris – Centre of the Turkish sailing tourism

Totally different is Marmaris. But also an interesting destination for a day trip. The town, pulsating and well-developed touristically, is located at the other end of the Datca Strait. Marmaris is the centre of the Turkish sailing tourism.

Modern marinas, but also many hotels, hospitals and shops are assembled in Marmaris. Here you also find the largest covered Bazaar in the vicinity, many restaurants, the Bar Street and everything you can expect in touristically developed towns.
You should not miss visiting the Fortress with the small museum above the inner harbour. The view from there across the Bay of Marmaris is as beautiful as the climb up to the castle through small labyrinthine alleyways.

Starting in Marmaris, you can make excursions to destinations near or farther off. Our friend Dogan, proprietor of the Hotel Palmiye, will be pleased to give you any support. Your places of excursion could be Ephesus, Dalyan, Göcek, Fethiye or Pamukkale. Places that are described in every guidebook.

Submersibles and gulets wait for guests planning day trips or even week-long excursions. Boat rentals, water parks with numerous chutes and other attractions, waterskiing and paragliding – Marmaris offers everything most tourists are looking for.

To Rhodos width the express Ferry

From Marmaris you can also make day trips to Rhodos, only abt. 20 sm distant, by means of the Express Ferry. Tickets can be obtained via Dogan at the Hotel Palmiye.

Many of our guests for sailing trips are attracted to the modern Netsel Marina in Marmaris, even if they are not looking for a sailing yacht of their own. There they sit together with other sailors or charter guests at the Yachtclub or in one of the various restaurants, dreaming about ships with white sails.

If, however, you are seriously looking for a yacht of your own, you should make a trip to the Yat Marina. Here more than 1,000 yachts lie at anchor, many of them waiting for a new owner. We would be pleased to get in touch with an owner of a yacht who could show you around the Marina.
From your excursions you return to the Hotel Palmiye in Orhaniye at the Hisarönü Gulf, swim in the sea, relax at the poolside or indulge yourself at the Turkish Hamam at the Marti Marina close by.

After just a few days you will realize why we would like to be at home right here.
